#Writerslife – #Preptober is here! Introducing my #NaNoWriMo project

Daughter of the Desert Book 2!

Hello beautiful October creepy beast!

As you may have noticed I’m hyper psyched about #Preptober and #NaNoWriMo!

I’ll be writing Daughters of the Desert Book 2, which will be mostly about the Global Armies and the Dark Days!

Choosing what project to work on was such a hard decision!

Thank you all that helped me choose my NaNowrimo Project!

At first I was totally convinced it should be Mamita, because of all  this great advice…

Hmmm. I mean, maybe at least finish the first edit of DotD before writing the second book? So that you kinda know what you’re working with for the second book? Unless you’re already sure how the whole story will go, then I guess you could go for it. But if you’re really feeling the other one right now… I’m terrible at giving advice about this, haha. – Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

Book 1 should be in the best place possible before you tackle book 2! But of course! Why didn’t I think of this! I will probably make another mess of book 2!

I think you are best doing what motivates you most right now as that will come easier than making yourself do something. Mood writing! Each day where you get time, work on what you feel like doing on that day. You might end up doing a whole week on one project or something different each day but it means you are always making progress on something, y’know? If you feel you are going forward on things, it’ll motivate you more! Good luck! – chuckles @ Chuckles Book Cave

Mood writing! yip. writing 50K words is daunting enough to do it when you are not in the mood  so I should work on the project I’m more into right now.

I say work on Mamita. It will give you some distance between book 1 and 2 of the other and it will also allow time for feedback on the other. Seems like you have a good plan for both of them though so I figure you’ll be successful no matter which you work on 🙂  – Barb @ Booker T’s Farm

Yup every time I work in DoD even though I think it’s a GREAT story I was such a disorganized pantser when I wrote I feel overwhelmed by all the work that is going to take to clean it up. So I need a fresh start to gain more confident as a writer! I need to prove myself I can be organized and write something that doesn’t need weeks of untangling!

I’ve never done Nano before and don’t imagine I will. I’m a slow writer and the goal of this seems to be getting words down, lots and lots of words. So in that sense, maybe your second project would fit better to meet your goal. The first project is sounds more like a tinkering thing, a stop-and-go kind of thing, which might slow down your word goals. –Tamara Narayan

Yes, I do think I’ll move a lot slower with DoD if I write book 2 as it is now!

So I was totally convinced I was writing Mamita until Di, Tanya, Greg and Olivia chimed  in!

I always LOVE your story boards – they are soooooo pretty, and the DOD story sounds amazing too! Mamita ALSO sounds good BUT I actually don’t have any advice about in which order to write…. I don’t know what’s meant to be best or what ‘they’ say. For me I would want to read DOD more so, so I’d say do that one. 🙂 – Di @ Book Reviews by Di

Di’s was soooo nice! It got me to be in love with DoD again!

I’m totally for working on Book Two for NaNoWriMo. First, because it seems the easiest option right now and I feel like being the second book it would make for a smooth NaNo experience than starting something new. Secondly, because those inspiration boards are AWESOME! Seeing those gets my imagination running wild and evokes all kinds of mental pictures like a movie playing. Love it! – Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I love my boards so much too! I want Daughters of the Desert to see the daylight! I want to share it with the world! I own it to it and to myself to finish it! If I pick this project I force myself to finish efditing book 1!

I will say, though, that those women in the fourth set of pics look BADASS! lol Okay I’ll say DoD – Greg @ Book Haven

The Global Armies is what Book 2 is about ! And I can’t wait to bring them to life!

do you need a break from this world? Or are you in it, then, maybe, stay in it! – Olivia @ Books in Blankes

Nope! I don’t need a break! I love DoD’s world so, OK! I’ll stay in!

So #Preptober will be about finishing editing Daughters of the Desert Book 1, polishing  Book 2’s outline and… GET IT DONE!!!

We should be sending those query letters in December!

We should have an agent in 2018!!!

Again, thank you very much to all my beautiful book-blogging beasts!

Don’t miss my next #preptober update where I’ll be telling you about my progress and my Machiavellian Plan  to conquer #NaNoWriMo 2017!

 Thank you for visiting!
