PPP [Pure Peer Pressure] – Barbara thought this book pretty much has it all!

Show me those fangs!

Hello beautiful reading beasts!

Welcome to my third PPP [Pure Peer Pressure] ! I really this new feature!

What is “Peer Pressure”?

The pressure to conform (to do what others are doing) can be powerful and hard to resist. A person might feel pressure to do something just because others are doing it (or say they are). Peer pressure can influence a person to do something that is relatively harmless — or something that has more serious consequences. [source]

Because…. What would be of this little professional DNFer #bookworm without the pressure of her peers?? 🙂

Please feel free to link any bookish post for any book(s) that you read or want to read as a result of “Pure Peer Pressure”

About the Book

Certain Dark Things

Three terrible things happen in a single day.

Essun, masquerading as an ordinary schoolteacher in a quiet small town, comes home to find that her husband has brutally murdered their son and kidnapped their daughter. Mighty Sanze, the empire whose innovations have been civilization’s bedrock for a thousand years, collapses as its greatest city is destroyed by a madman’s vengeance. And worst of all, across the heartland of the world’s sole continent, a great red rift has been been torn which spews ash enough to darken the sky for years. Or centuries.

But this is the Stillness, a land long familiar with struggle, and where orogenes — those who wield the power of the earth as a weapon — are feared far more than the long cold night. Essun has remembered herself, and she will have her daughter back.

She does not care if the world falls apart around her. Essun will break it herself, if she must, to save her daughter.

I used to like vampires! But then I didn’t like them anymore. 🙁

Overexposure I guess! I don’t think I have read a vampire book since 2015 when I read the Dark Protectors! So if this is not PPP I don’t know what it is! 🙂

I’m reading Certain Dark Things because Barbara said..

This book pretty much has it all – gritty, mean and nasty vampires, drug lords, Mexican/Hispanic heritage, good cops and bad cops (and some who are both) and one of the most bad ass dogs I’ve ever ran across in a book in a LONG time.

This book pretty much has it all – gritty, mean and nasty vampires, drug lords, Mexican/Hispanic heritage, good cops and bad cops (and some who are both) and one of the most bad ass dogs I’ve ever ran across in a book in a LONG time.

So I’m hoping this super diverse Vampire story makes me love Vampires again!

This is NOT the first book I read because Barbara influenced me! We have similar tastes in books. We like dark and horrific so she had me at…

The vampires in this book are ruthless and vicious and oh, how I loved them all!

If Barbara thought it was ruthless and vicious and she loved it it’s pretty much guaranteed I will love it too!

I’m sure you’ll see Barbara’s reviews again in this PPP feature! Actually my last Creeptober post coming up next week, Wytches, was a PPP book, thanks to Barbara! 🙂

What about you?

What is the last book you read because of PPP?

TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT!

Thank you for visiting!
