U.S. Soccer Academy… Here we go!

Greetings from Springgedonland!, this little apocalyptic beast that survived Springgedon, salutes you! πŸ™‚

#FamilyLife

We are wrapping up an AH-MAZING school-sports year! The tryouts to forΒ US Soccer Development Academy in this region were May 29th Β and 30th, and Friday morning we got a email…

Grasshopper was selected!!!

WHOOOOOHOOOO!

In case you wonder… Here is what the U.S. Soccer Development Academy is about…

Following a comprehensive review of elite player development in the United States and around the world, U.S. Soccer created the Development Academy in 2007. The Academy Program’s philosophy is based on increased training, less total games, and more meaningful games using international rules of competition.

The Academy has 150 total clubs, comprised of teams across five age groups: U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15/16, and U-17/18. The Academy is currently in the process of expanding its programming to include a Girls’ Development Academy that will begin in Fall 2017.

The Academy Program focuses on positively impacting everyday club environments to assist in maximizing youth player development across the country. The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles. The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer’s global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.

So I’m a VERY proud #soccermom!

Then June 5th and 6th was ButterflyΒ tryouts for her premier club’s team and she got in her team again! πŸ™‚ Girl Power! πŸ™‚

Last week was also Grasshopper’s first piano recital at our state’s Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School. He played The Beatles’ Yesterday and did such a great job! I have to say… I cried and all!

In the remote scenario you don’t know this song, here it is…

We also had his last school band’s concert Β and the 5th grader got to performance with the 6th graders so… really… I feel SO FREAKING blessed I can’t even! And I have to yell this to the world….

I am a #proudmom!

#AmWriting

Ha! hahahahahha! Writing? What does that mean? πŸ™‚ Last week I wrote.. Nothing! But.. did I tell you that…

I am a #proudmom!??? πŸ™‚

#AmReading…

Actually I did manage to finish ONE BOOK, Six Months, and started four wonderful books…

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is such a gem! I have only read about 20% but I already know there are not enough stars in the universe for this book! I really want to finish all my the series and pending ARCs so I’m reading Five Weeks and Get It Together, Delilah!. And I’m VERY curious about Thirteen Reasons Why because of all the controversy around the book and the TV Show!

And because I want to be a reading beast again today I added a bunch of books to Goodreads. These are the new titles in my TBR….

I’m Blogging…

Some. Thanks to all the apocalyptic prepping done in February I was able to get some post up. I hope you have enjoy my favorite Dystopian/ApocalypticΒ books so far. There are more to come! If you haven’t yet go check the reviews of Blood Red Road, The 5th Wave, and Life As We Knew It.

What about you? How was your week?
