Cress – 5 Constellations!

Oh… my love… my darling…

Oh this was such an exponential increment of Adoration . WAAAY beyond 5 stars – Many many constellations!

About the Book

In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who’s only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

Oh stars… Thank good the universe in infinite so I can continue to give this series constellations of stars!

Oh… my love… my darling… the lyrics of this OLD song [unchained melody] come to my mind now.

Because this series is MY DARLING and I’m immersed in an unchained adoration. I can’t help it. Despite being a wife, a mom, supposedly a sane respectable member of my community and all that… I just can’t help fangirl over this series!

I NEVER buy books and I’ve been buying this series as I read it. And if it wasn’t because there is a certain level of maturity, I should maintain because I’m raising two Spawns and all, I’ll buy the shirts, the iPhone case, drink coffee in the mug, the whole nine yards of fangirling.

I was instantly in love with the insta-love in this book yes I know we, bookworms, usually don’t like insta-love but Cress had stalked Captain Thorne for years. So let’s cut her some slack here people. And she is so yummily idiotic about him, I was idiotic too, and kept a perpetual idiotic grin the whole time I read about them.

And I had already liked Thorne when he was introduced in Scarlet. Because that’s how much of a genius Mayer is, and how well she weaves all the books to braid them in this AH-WESOME series, a long magical braid Tangle style. [And Tangle is one of my favorite Disney movies so go figure how much I enjoyed this book]

And Cress brings back the techy, savvy, resourceful heroine that Cinder was in, if possible, a more adorable way. A more vulnerable nerdy way.

And. I. Have. A. Weakness. For. Vulnerable. And. Nerdy

Cinder is a genius of mechanic and Cress is a genius of a hacker. How is that for Girl Power?

And Cress is also a little CUCKOO- CUCKOO [Well she is a Lunar who has been isolated for years so yes. So, totally CUCKOO- CUCKOO. ]

And. I. Have. A. Weakness. For. Vulnerable. And. Nerdy. And. CUCKOO- CUCKOO.

I imagined her like Luna from Harry Potter who was one of my favorite characters.

And what is awesome about this series is that even though is fantasy/sci-fi, there is some much of real life! So much about racism, social inequality, discrimination and persecution of minorities, and some mental health and disability as well.

“cyborgs were too smart, people have complaint. they were cheating the average man out of his wages. Cyborgs were too skilled. They were taking jobs away from hard working average citizens, Cyborgs were too strong. They shouldn’t be allowed to compete in sporting events with regular people. It gave them an unfair advantage.”

Humm sounds familiar! Not so Sci-fi after all this series huh?

You guys should read this series and tell me if I’m completely CUCKOO- CUCKOO like Cress!. Hope you enjoy my Goodreads updates…

Thank you for visiting!
